Portimão Portugal Match Cup action will be beamed to over 15 trans-global broadcasters during Stage 4 of the ISAF World Match Racing Tour. Distribution will go out to America One, CNBC, Australia/ Asia Pacific, Setanta Africa, Sky Sports UK, Sky New Zealand, ESPN Star Sports and Eurosport.
The footage will include daily highlights, international news and an event highlights show from the Portuguese leg of the 2010 Tour.
In addition to the television broadcasters the shows will be streamed and aired through IPTV on SailTV, Sevenload, Sky Sports New Zealand, Sky Sports UK and ESPN International.
The international angle to the World Match Racing Tour is a huge asset to this professional sailing series as it encompasses 10 events within a 9 month period and appeals to an ever growing number of multinational sports followers.
Television is an effective medium for the World to follow the racing and with onboard cameras filming daily the fan can feel like they are actually in the cockpit. The match race magicians provide ample entertainment during close fought tussles on the water delighting the viewers.

Match Race France is back on the World Match Racing Tour calendar for the second year. In 2008 it featured as one of the qualifier events for the WMRT before stepping up to full Tour event status. Racing will be held on the bay of Marseille in identically matched J80 boats.
Sailing is a major sport in Marseille. The winds can blow from different directions and allows for interesting racing in the waters of the Mediterranean. The venue lends itself to sailing as the consistent winds provide perfect conditions for our sport.
