Spectator Special at Finals Day of 2010 Stena Match Cup Sweden

Marstrand, Sweden – 11 July, 2010  – The small island off Sweden’s west coast, host of Stena Match Cup Sweden, has been a lively hub this week with over 115,000 visitors flocking to Marstrand’s yachtie Mecca.

The race course is set in the middle of a rocky amphitheatre, providing perfect views of the on water match race action.  Swedish stunners line the shores as they frolic in the calm waters of the archipelago attracting the sailors’ attention through dramatic dives.

Year on year the Tour inspires these fans to trek from all over the world to immerse themselves into the exhilarating culture this professional sailing series delivers.

This week has been a particular delight to the loyal followers due to the big Swedish skipper entry for 2010.  For some this is their 16th visit to the regatta which is part of Sweden’s high society summer calendar.

Mattias Rahm (SWE) Stena Bulk Sailing Team, Magnus Holmberg (SWE) Sigma Racing Team, Johnnie Berntsson (SWE) Berntsson Sailing Team and Bjorn Hansen (SWE) Hansen Global Team are all Swedish sailing stars with Holmberg leading the ‘local hero’ stakes this week having secured his spot in the semis already underway today.
