Gastronomic Delights at Swedish Stage of the World Match Racing Tour

thumb_WMRT10SMC0807_052Marstrand, Sweden – 8 July, 2010 – Sponsors, competitors and visitors at Stage 5 of the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) Stena Match Cup Sweden will be treated to the gastronomic delights of Swedish chef Mats Nordström during this week.  

This will be the fourth year that Nordström has headed up the catering for Stena Match Cup Sweden, a task which is full of challenges.  Nordström and his team of 45 staff will be serving a multitude of guests through 3 outlets; a VIP/competitors restaurant, an oyster bar and ‘Afrikanska Grillrestaurant.’  The hardest challenge for the team is the logistics of setting up the restaurant as they only have two and a half days to organize the 12 trucks of equipment brought from Gothenburg. 

Providing catering to satisfy each individual category of guest is vital and Nordström has certainly stepped up to the plate.  For lunch the competitors are provided with a seafood and meat buffet whilst the VIP’s receive a gourmet platter and the public get to sate their hunger at the African Grill.  The sailor’s dinner last night was themed around the FIFA World Cup semi-final between Germany and Spain with guests being treated to a South African Braai.
